Ceiling Fan Wireless Remote Controls

A luxurious feature offered on many modern ceiling fans is the wireless remote control. This feature offers full operation of the fan (and any light attachment) from any location within a reasonable distance. This can be especially useful in bedrooms, home theatres, and any other location it is beneficial to adjust the fan and lights without having to get up and operate a wall switch or pullcord.

Unfortunately remote controls also account for a fair number of problems with ceiling fans, and, even more unfortunately, solutions to these problems are usually not easily accessable. Usually, the only options available to the consumer are adjusting the dip switches, or using a universal replacement remote. Also, some fans use an add-on remote kit (in place of a permanently wired receiver) and this kit can be replaced or even removed.

The first step when encountering a problem with a remote control fan is to determine the make and model. If replacement parts are available, they will most likely be available through the manufacturer. If the manufactuer is no longer in business, or parts are no longer available, then you are usually limited to the options mentioned above.
