I was actually writing another article all together and I was about 1/3 the way through when I realized something. I realized that everything I was talking about was in regards to the advantages of Clone Golf Clubs. I know you are probably sitting there saying to yourself well of course you think that clones are better then "Name Brand". It is your job... so that is kind of stating the obvious. But remember the majority of you dont have the luxuries I do when it comes to information about golf. You guys dont understand that from the time I roll out of bed.heck from morning and through the night (dreams) that is all I think about. And I actually started Golfideas selling both (Name Brand and Clones) so I am not really biased. I changed to 100% custom clubs because I felt like I was ripping golfers off by selling clubs that cost them over $1000. I will admit that when I first got into this business the products were not where we wanted them to be in regards to quality. And at the time(ashamed to say) I still played a name brand driver and putter. But since, then we have worked very hard to bring the best custom golf clubs to you. We develop about 70% of the products you see, that means we play a part in the clubs overall development and do not have to rely on another company when it comes to quality. ********THAT BEING SAID LETS GET DOWN TO THE NITTY GRITTY ******** When you think about the root of why people play "Name Brand" compared to why people play clones you begin to realize that clone people are probably making the smarter decision. Why People play Name Brand: -Marketing (Yes companies spend millions because it does work.) -Brand Loyalty. -Belief in getting what you pay for (True in most instances not true with golf clubs though.) -Ashamed to play non "Name Brand Clubs". -Clones in most markets are not as good of quality as the real thing. Why People play Custom Clubs: -You can customize the shafts to fit your game (It is the most effective way to improve your game) The shaft can change about everything you are having troubles with in your current game.Ranging from ball flight, ball flight pattern, weight, feel, etc. -You can choose the proper length you need to get in the correct swing plane. -Ability to change lie angle. By now you are starting to see why we dont understand the fact that people still buy name brand golf equipment.
